To mark the 70th anniversary of the first "Sissi" film, the Vienna Furniture Museum will offer two special guided tours, “Sis(s)i in the movies", on 28 December 2025.

The guided tour “Sis(s)i in the movies (Empress Elisabeth, Sissi and Romy)” explores the creation of the Sissi films of the 1950s and highlights how original furniture from the museum’s collection was used for the film sets. The tour examines the differences and intersections between the historical Empress Elisabeth, the film character “Sissi,” and Romy Schneider, as well as the lasting influence of the films on today’s image of Sisi.
