2 WHITE-GOLD CHAIR AND RED DAMASK

A REPRESENTATIVE STYLE FOR MONARCHY AND REPUBLIC

Based on Maria Theresa's Rococo style, a representative interior design style developed at the Viennese court in the 19th century, featuring white and gold furniture upholstered in red silk damask, known as pineapple damask.

This furniture blended in with the interior design of the representative rooms, which had hardly changed since Maria Theresa's time.

This representative style was also continued by the First and Second Republics, which used the existing furniture.
